3 New Internet Marketing Sites and a whole lot more…

Friday, May 13th, 2005

Hey all!

Well after working NON STOP all week long, I got A LOT accomplished. The TomeMarketing.com Network has added 3 more sites.

1. http://www.InternetMarketerHotorNot.com I have taken the age old Hot or Not site and made it into a blog for Internet marketers.

This is NOT going to be a “Guru” blog… Occasionally you may find a big name on there, but mostly it will be your every day online marketer. Right now I just have a welcome message there. I’m still “moving in”.

Hopefully by the end of this weekend, I will have my first Internet marketer posted and you can come by and vote if they are HOT or NOT…

We’re not talking about looks here people… *lol*

2. http://www.MyOriginalEProducts.com I know all of you are sick of those same old resell rights packages being sold. So, I came up with a better deal…

Totally original eproducts from ME that YOU can sell or give away… Each month I will add five new eproducts.

The membership fee is only $17 a month. If you would like to become an affiliate, contact me, and I’ll give you the information. I’m not making this an open affiliate program, so you wont have to worry about everyone and their brother promoting it! J

3. This is probably my favorite idea so far…. http://www.TheGreatBigBookofInternetMarketing.com That’s a mouthful huh?

This is going to be an ebook packed full of internet marketing tips from well-know AND unknown marketers from around the world.

The site is not fully up yet because the product is still in development… However, if you’d like some free advertising go to http://www.TheGreatBigBookofInternetMarketing.com/content.htm

Here’s the cool part about http://www.TheGreatBigBookofInternetMarketing.com YOU get to name your price for the product…

Seriously!

The product is due out In July, but as I said… Go to if you want some free advertising!

There’s the updates for now. I also put out a new issue for my http://www.MarketingForREALPeople.com newsletter. Scroll down to the bottom and you can get on the list for great marketing information with out the hype!

Until next time…

Blogging Dangers

Friday, May 13th, 2005

The latest buzz word that everyone wants more information about is “BLOG”.

What is a blog?

How do I set up a blog?

What do I write in a blog?

How do I get traffic to my blog?

And the list of questions goes on…

These are all great questions, ones that should be answered before jumping in feet first and setting up your own blog.

However, there appears to be a darkside of blogging sneaking up on us. This darkside has a name - one that every legitimate internet user knows and dreads…. “SPAM”.

While it is true that only people who subscribe to your blog will be notified when you update your content, and it’s also true that if you want to guarantee content delivery, blogging and RSS feeds are the way to go. It is also becoming clear however that spammers will stop at absolutely nothing to spread their garbage throughout the internet - not just to our Inbox’s anymore.

Email spam has been a problem for years now, resulting in spam blockers at the ISP, on website servers, and on everyone’s email accounts.

With the increased interest in blogging and RSS feeds, is it any wonder that spammers worldwide would turn their sights on this technology too?

Just how are spammers aggrevating the growing blog communities?

1. Comment Spam

Bloggers have the ability to allow visitors to interact by leaving comments about blog posts. The comment system is similar to a guestbook on websites.

Spammers are now taking advantage of this opportunity to leave spam comments (ie: Visit my discount pharmaceuticals site) in comments blog-world wide.

Google has created a way for many bloggers to stop search engines from indexing the links left in blog comments. Refer to Googleblog: Preventing Comment Spam, Jan. 18/05. By placing a “NoFollow” attribute in the blog code of the comments section, this will effectively stop everyone that leaves a comment from gaining page rank via inbound links.

This is all great, however it’s also penelizing legitimate commentors. Inbound links are something that every website owner wants to achieve in order to boost their pagerank within the search engines, and with Google and many other major search engines now on board with the new “NoFollow” attribute, this benefit of commenting is no longer present.

2. Blog Bombing

According to Quikonnex founder Jim Gray, Internet Marketing Guru Armand Morin seems to be leading the race by promoting new software that is nothing more than another form of Blog Spam or Blog Bombing as it’s also referred to. Jim has posted his own comments and opinions of Armand and his promotion of Blog Power in his Gray Scales blog. What’s worse is that with Armand’s Guru status, he effectively has a team of Internet Marketing Guru wannabee’s all set to spend the $197 (or more) for this software that will explode their search engine positioning.

What can be done to prevent Blog Spam? There are different options available depending on what blogging software is being utilized and where your blog is hosted, so be sure to read the installation manuals, or support pages and forums for assistance.

There are also blacklist databases online that will provide you with the domain’s of known spammers.

Internet Marketing Baby Steps

Internet Marketing Baby Steps
The first steps to take as an Internet marketer

Time after time I get asked the question, “What do I need to do to start making money online?”

That is a REALLY big question with a million different answers.

What I’m about to tell you is something you may not want to hear, but it IS the truth…

In order to make money online (even offline) you HAVE to work at it. There is NO magic formula, there is no instant money machine, and there is no getting rich quick unless you win the lottery.

Creating products takes time and a lot of work. Promoting programs takes a lot of money, time and work. You’re promised instant cash, but that’s not the way it works.

Once you can accept what I have just said, come back and continue reading. What I am going to tell you next isn’t so harsh!

Okay, now that I’ve laid it on the line for you, there is hope for making money as online.

When I first started my business, I was 19 years old. I was in college going to be a nurse. After seeing that I was WAY to sensitive to be a nurse, I quit college and came home. I had always been really good with computers and anything technical. I started thinking about what I wanted to do. In the mean time I had to take a job paying minimum wage. I HATED it. I hated working for peanuts for a bunch of jerks. When I was finally fed up, I knew I had to do something else.

I started looking in opportunity magazines and quickly fell for the “get rich quick schemes”. After being burnt there SEVERAL times, I started realizing that the only way to make money was to be your own boss and do your own thing.

What I mean by that is that you must be the one on top. Don’t be a follower, be a leader.

If you like the whole MLM (no, it’s not ALL bad) thing, then start your own MLM program. It’s very easy to do.

If you like doing web design, then start your own web design company.

There are a ton of services that you can start, and services WILL bring you money.

Think about what skills you have. Put those skills to work. If ANY of my subscribers come to me and say, “Hey Liz! I just started such and such business, and I was wondering how to promote it.” I can help that person all day long. But when one of you comes to me wondering how to make the $435,658 this month like their MLM program or other business opportunity has promised them, I have to give them the same speech I gave at the beginning of this guide.

Let me continue on with my own personal story. As I told you, I was totally fed up with those million dollar promises. So, instead of falling for those million dollar promises, I decided to help others who have fallen for them. I started providing advertising services that REALLY worked for those who were promoting those same programs that I had fallen for. Not only was I making money by offering them a service, but the advertising I was providing them helped them make money with what they were promoting.

I have gone on to start many other services, and that is how I make the money that I do now. You can do the exact same thing.

If you don’t think you can, then you will never be able to. If you set your mind to it, you can. I am a walking testimonial to this. I was determined to be my own boss, and now I’m able to stay home and work while I take care of my five incredible kids.

So, step one for anyone wanting to market online is deciding on what you want to offer. Not what program you want to offer, or what “get rich quick scheme” you want to jump into, but what you can personally offer. Until you can get passed that step, you can go no further.

If you would like to take this first step, but need some help, I have a special offer for a few of my subscribers. If you would like help on taking this first step, please go http://www.tomeymarketing.com/startupcoach.htm to so you can see what I can do for you.

Let’s move on to step number two.

Now that you have your offer all ready, you have to decide how to present it. Are you going to present it via a website? Are you going to present it via email? How about both?

This is something you have to decide. Now, I’m not going to tell you how to build a website or anything like that, and I’m not going to tell you how to present your business via email either. There is way too much information online that will tell you how to do that. What I am telling you though is that you have to know the best way to present what you are offering no matter what it is.

Step number four is a VERY broad step because all of you will be promoting many different things. Step four consists of designing a marketing strategy or marketing plan.

Whenever I decide to market a new offer, I always come up with a 30-day all out, nose to the grindstone, marketing strategy. For 30 days, I eat, sleep, and breathe my new offer. Since mainly I offer advertising services, and services that teach people to make money online, I can usually use the same marketing strategy with each new offer.

For instance, I am getting ready to start a new advertising service. I know what my offer is, and I know how I’m going to present it. It’s all set up and ready to go. So my 30-day marketing strategy looks like this.

Day 1: I look for my competition. I have to make sure they aren’t offering something better than mine. That way any last minute additions I need to do can be taken care of right away.

Day 2-3: I gather tons of content on the topic of my offer. Since I will be offering an advertising service, I read as much about advertising as I can.

Day 3-5: I start writing as many articles as I can on advertising. Articles are a vital part of my marketing strategy, so I invest a lot of time in writing them and getting them distributed. In later issues I will cover how powerful marketing with articles is.

Day 6: I get my articles published all over the Internet. Within the day, I will have targeted traffic coming to my site, since in the resource box of all my articles I have put a link to my new advertising service. I’m telling you. Marketing with articles is VERY powerful.

Day 7-11: I buy a list of leads and market to them. This is a really tricky part of my strategy, but I have a new product that you can pick up for free that totally explains the exact process of this. You can pick it up by clicking here.

Day 12-19: I work on finding others I can do joint ventures with. In other words people who will help me promote my product, and in turn I do something for them. Be it promoting their product or something else. Joint ventures are another powerful way to build your business at no cost, and at a VERY rapid pace.

20-23 Day: I start working on my PPC campaigns. Once I know that my offer is pulling in some money for my, I then start my PPC campaigns. Some say you should do this first. I don’t because I don’t like to use PPC to test. I like using other methods to test like the ones mentioned above. Using PPC as part of your marketing strategy is

Day 24-30: I hit the forums. Yes, I am a firm believer in marketing via the forums. Many say that they don’t work, but I KNOW they do. Heck, my very first sale came from posting on the forums, and I can’t tell you how many joint venture partners I’ve formed profitable relationships with via the forums, and that’s why I use them as part of my marketing strategy.

We’ve now gotten through steps 1-4. Step 5 is the hardest step of all, so let’s get right to it.

Step 5 is a two-part process. Step 5 consists of staying totally focused of your offer, and don’t give up. Think that’s easy? You’re dead wrong!! Staying focused and not giving up is where 99.9% of all Internet marketers FAIL. In the final step, they fail. They come all this way and something else either gets their attention, or they get frustrated and give up. The way to get around this is to decide before you do anything that no matter what you are going to see your new offer to the end, and don’t give up on it. Grant it sometimes we come up with something that just doesn’t work, but it takes time to figure that out. Before you give up on something make sure that you have given it 110% .

Well, we have come to the end of our Internet marketing baby steps. Yes, that is all there really is to making money online. Once you master the five steps above you are on your way to the income and lifestyle you see so many talking about. We’re not all going to make $100,000 a week, but anyone can make a very nice living with their own home business. My only goal in writing this guide for you is so that you will succeed. It can be done. Just ask me. I did it.

Until next time…

Liz

The complete disaster…

Friday, May 6th, 2005

Well, it’s never happened to me, but it finally did… I had a harddrive in my computer go out on me, and my computer guy CAN’T recover all my information.

Some of you already know about this, and most of you said you would be losing your mind. Well… I am!

I’ve decided at this point, the best thing to do is to just take the weekend off. Go spend Mothers Day with my mom, and hit the ground running Monday morning.

I promised you guys and my newsletter subscribers an incredible issue for this week of http://www.MarketingForREALPeople.com, but it’s going to have to wait until next week.

Why?

It was on the old hard drive, so it’s G-O-N-E…

If I’ve learned anything from this, it’s not to get ticked off at my husband when he nags at me to backup my computer. I WILL be doing that from now on.

Until next time…

Liz

Okay, let me try my hand at it..

Sunday, May 1st, 2005

Everyone is screaming niche… Why? Well it LOOKS like people are making money with all this niche stuff.

I’m going into it totally blind.

Why? Because if I can make money with it then you guys can to, so here is the plan….

I have bought http://www.scrapbookinghome.com

What am I going to do with it?

Well I “think” I will take it and make a content blog out of it, and use adsense for revenue.

Will it work?

If it does, not only will I profit, but you will to.

How?

Because I’m going to go through this step by step with you. I’ll let you know the exact tools and steps I take, so you can do the exact same thing.

Why have I decided to go this route?

Niches are something that are not new. Everyone in Internet marketing is acting like they are, but they are far from new. They’ve always been around, so don’t you think they’re always going to be around. I know NOTHING about scrapbooking and don’t care about scrapbooking. I’m getting ready to learn a lot about it, but I wanted to show you guys that you can pick any topic you want and make money with it. You’ve just got to know HOW to do it.

So in this “Watch Me Do This” part of my blog, let’s see if I can make money by doing this…

This is a side project, so I will try to post as often as possible…

Liz
