My Top 3 Rants For The Day…

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

Maybe I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but I not only have 1 rant today, but I have 3, and I’m sure many of you are going to agree with me here…

1. Windows Vista Sucks And Microsoft IS The Devil

I absolutely and totally hate Windows Vista. It’s has turned my network here in my office into absolute and total chaos. They tell me I need to put Vista on ALL of my computers for it to work properly. Well if you can’t get it to work on ONE why would I do that? Hell hasn’t froze over yet, so I don’t think I’ll be doing that anytime soon. :)

The first computer I ever worked on was a Mac. I was 5 maybe 6 years old. It was the first year we had computers in our school. Looks like I should have stuck with them…

So now as I look for a new laptop, I am seeing that ALL of them have Vista on them, so I’m going to have to go spend at least $1000 for a new laptop, pay for a copy of XP, and then pay someone to wipe my brand new laptop clear of that nasty little Vista episode, and have them put XP on it.

This is absolutely insane. Xp works fine… Why fix it if it aint broke, right?

It’s Microsoft… That’s why….

2. Number Your Freakin’ Ebook Pages

I love that so many people have found they can create ebooks. That’s wonderful. More power to ya! However, if you plan for people to actually read these ebooks, most will print them out to read them. I’ve done a survey and most people who read ebooks actually print them out.

So with that said, PLEASE number the pages of your ebook. It’s super easy to do. With Word just click on Insert >> Page Numbers.

That way when I or others print them and the printer decides to throw the pages around the room, or the entire ebook gets dropped, or any one of a million things that happens each and every time I print out an ebook that doesn’t have the pages numbered the ebook can easily be put back together in order.

It’s an absolute pain in the arse to try and put an ebook back together that has no page numbers. As a matter of fact I just had someone send me their ebook to review and ask if I would promote it to my list. I printed it out and the moment I walked out of the room my printer started shooting the pages of the ebook across the room like it was doing an aerial attack on the wall.

I come back into my office to find the ebook across the floor, and low and behold when I looked to start putting it back together there were no page numbers. I scooped all the pages up and tossed them into the trash can. That person’s ebook never got reviewed because I wasn’t spending my time trying to put the ebook puzzle back together.

Moral of story… Number your ebook page….

3. The Adsense Is Dead Nonsense Is TOTALLY Overrated..

Apparently there are a few marketers out there that have really taken this whole Adsense is dead BS and found a way to make money off of it. I’ve seen a few who used to sell Adsense products now running around as the town crier stating that Adsense is dead.

You wanna know why?

Because now that they can create more products for you about why Adsense is dead and sell them to you. They can sell you their new BS strategies and take even more money from you.

I don’t know where the hell this Adsense is dead nonsense came from, but whoever started it didn’t tell me, because I just cashed a $9,091.43 check from Google, and last month I cashed one for over $11,000. So if Adsense is dead I must be doing something right because it’s alive and doing well here.

So the next time you hear someone screaming Adsense is dead look closely because they’re just trying to sell your more BS nonsense… :)

Whew… I feel better now. :)

I hope you’re learning from these sudden rant-bursts here… :)

Internet Marketing Reality TV?

Monday, May 14th, 2007

At the end of April, I made a post here titled “Holy Crappin’ A… This Could Be Big…” (you can see the post at www.liztomey.com/holy-crappin-a-this-could-be-big) and today, I want to go into more detail here about what “THIS” is…

You see, Joel Comm, who I think is absolutely brilliant is going out on a limb here. He’s doing something that so many of us have joked about…

Internet Marketing Reality TV

Yes, I am totally serious… I laughed my *ss off when I saw it. I just couldn’t believe he was actually going to do it. Now keep in mind this is about to go into hype overdrive. Everyone and their brother is going to be talking about freakin big this is going to be.

Stop and think for a moment…

What would happen if Joel’s “reality tv” went main stream. Internet marketing is really a tiny niche. Compared to MANY other niches out there it is tiny. So what would happen if millions upon millions of people were exposed to making money online. It would blow this tiny little niche up.

Would it be good or bad?

Now that is a VERY controversial question, and I challenge you to post your thoughts by clicking on the comments link at the end of this post.

What do I think?

In short, I think it would be freakin incredible for a little while and then it would just bust wide open. Only the strongest would survive, and those who are just getting buy would be put under. It would be like the Dot Com Bust in the late 90’s. It would kill 1000’s upon 1000’s of every day people who are just making a small income online. Literally only the really big top dogs would be left…

Do I think it will happen? Nope… :) I don’t see this getting huge, so you worry warts can take a deep breath and relax…

For the time being though I urge you to keep up with what Mr. Comm is doing. You can keep up to date by going to tomeymarketing.com/recommends/IMRealityTV

Once you opt-in to keep up with what’s going on, of course you’re going to be hit with a One Time Offer. :) Hello? This is Internet marketing, right? :)

It’s actually a good deal. I bought it, and what you get is absolutely amazing. Mind blowing and for the price, you just can’t beat it. Take advantage of it because it’s money well spent.

Once you jump through all the hoops you’ll be able to access the official “The Next Millionaire” website where you can audition for the show, vote on auditions, watch episodes, join the forum, read the blog, and a whole lot of other fun stuff. This is going to be fun to watch unfold so check it out at tomeymarketing.com/recommends/IMRealityTV

The Most Asked Question…

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Today once again, I got the question that I get asked constantly.

“Where do I start with making money online, and what’s the best way to do it?”

I get asked this question at least twice a week, so I figured it was time that I addressed this fully and to all of my readers.

First, I cannot tell you where to start. Nope. I really don’t have that answer. There are many options out there for making money online. MANY! You just have to choose. I can’t tell you what’s best for you.

Personally, I think that creating your own products and selling them online is the best way to make money online. However, it’s not the only thing I do online, and it’s not best for everyone.

Is what you have to do is look at all the possibilities out there. You could…

Create websites to earn cash from - This includes Google Adsense, YPN, all the other PPC networks, CPA offers, and many more. Building websites and monetizing them with third party networks is a great source of income. I also do this.

(Sidenote: Two sites that I own that you can learn to do this from are www.AdsenseNewbieVideos.com and www.RSSCashSecrets.com )

Create your own products - As I just said, this is my favorite way to make money online, and where I have made the most money online. This is the main part of my business. There’s a sharp learning curve to it, but is by far the most profitable. Providing services also falls under this create your own products category.

(Sidenote: My www.TomeyMarketing.com sites is where I cover mostly about product creation and creating marketing funnels to sell your products through. Signup for the newsletter and you’ll learn a ton. )

Affiliate marketing - If you don’t want to create your own products, then learn to be an affiliate marketer. As an affiliate marketer, you’ll need to know what products are hot in what niches, and then know how to market those products to the people in those niches. Affiliate marketing also comes with a sharp learning curve. There are some easy tactics you can use to market affiliate products, but a serious affiliate marketer builds sites and products to sell their affiliate products through.

(Sidenote: I started into affiliate marketing only AFTER creating my own products and services. Once I had a list to market products to, and the know how of marketing a product, I then started in with affiliate marketing.)

Freelancing - As a freelancer, you’ll need skills. The most popular freelance jobs are graphic design, website creation, article and ebook writing, and software development. I myself would never do freelancing because I know it’s more profitable for me to hire a freelancer to do these things for me in my business. They make the money by doing it, and I make the money by selling it. Much more money on the selling end, but not everyone wants to run a big Internet business like I do, so that’s why there are freelancers. They just want to get paid for what they know how to do, and not have to worry about the hassles of being a “project manager”.

So for those of you who ask this question….

“Where do I start with making money online, and what’s the best way to do it?”

I want to turn this question now to you…

Where do you want to start making money online, that will best fit you?

How do you come to that conclusion…

You research. Find something out there that you want to do. Read everything you can on the subject. Be it reading articles in the free article directories or reading products from others who are already doing what you are thinking about wanting to do.Find someone that is doing what you want to do and follow them. Quit staying subscribed to those lists where all people are doing is promoting products to you. Spend your time wisely, and only on those who you can gain knowledge from.

Doing what I just told you above will show you how you can start making money online with something that best fits you! You’ll no longer have to ask the question “Where do I start with making money online, and what’s the best way to do it?” because you can answer it for yourself!

Ben Shaffer got me on the phone one day a few weeks ago, and just totally picked my brain about the ways that I make money online.

From PLR rights and master resell rights to using Web 2.0 tactics and traffic generation tactics. For almost an hour Ben sucked a ton of information out of me. If you’d like to listen to that call, you can get it from tomeymarketing.com/recommends/LizOnThePhone.htm

Just be sure you have a pen and paper handy because I really held nothing back on this call. If you want to know what Liz knows and get to know Liz, this is probably one of the best interviews I’ve done…

Make Money From Someone Else’s Product Launch

How To Make A Fortune From Someone Else’s Product Launch Without Being An Affiliate Or Promoting Their Offer

By Jimmy D. Brown of “Small Reports Fortune”

……………………………

I’m an observer. I watch marketers and how they work. I look at how people respond to marketing. And I’ve discovered something interesting over the years that I want to share with you as it relates to building your internet business.

Hot topics and trends come along regularly. There’s always a new “in” thing making an appearance on the radar screen. And whenever there’s a new rage, there will be marketers who jump on the bandwagon.

That can pay off big for YOU if you’re smart.

Let me explain.

What happens when a new trend or technique or tool surfaces?

*** People begin to talk about it.***

Marketers begin convincing people why they need it. Consumers tell their stories. Discussions take place. Hype builds. Sometimes controversy breaks out. An education process unfolds.

Through it all … DEMAND increases.

Now, here’s where you come along.

You piggyback on the popularity of the latest big hit by creating a small report on the topic. You get the benefit of other marketers creating hungry leads for your offer without them even knowing it.

Let me give you an example -

EXAMPLE

When John Reese released Traffic Secrets it was a huge success. He sold over a million dollars worth of product in one twenty-four hour period. However, at a $997.00 asking price, it was out of reach for many consumers.

But…

What if YOU had decided to write a 15 page small report entitled, “Free Traffic Secrets” and offered it for $20 … do you think you would have had any takers? Of course!

Why? Because every marketer on the planet was talking about the need for web site traffic so they could build interest in John’s course. They were creating hungry leads for your offer without them even knowing it.

All of these marketers expertly and persuasively pointed out the necessity, benefits and usages of getting web site traffic. They, in essence, would have created demand for the TOPIC of your small report.

1. Many of those that couldn’t afford John’s high-ticket product would likely buy your small report because the end result of getting site traffic was something they had been told repeatedly they needed!

2. Many of those who could afford John’s high-ticket product would also likely buy your small report because of the same reason AND they would like to know what you might offer differently than John.

Do you see how powerful this is?

Even as I type this lesson out, I have received DOZENS of emails today announcing a new co-registration product that everyone’s talking about.

I could spend a few hours this evening writing a small report on the same topic and sell it like crazy tomorrow because of everything that’s being said about the subject today.

So, what’s the lesson for you to learn here -

**The surest way to create a hot-selling small report is to pick a topic related to that which everyone is talking about.***

You know, it doesn’t matter what “market” you’re in, chances are you see the same kinds of outbreaks that I see in “internet marketing” circles …

* Major product launches
* New technologies and tools
* Fresh research
* Innovative features and improvements
* Ground-breaking news
* Hot topics of discussion
* Best-selling books
* Interest-grabbing magazine articles
* Emerging trends

The list could go on and on, right?

It shouldn’t come as a big surprise that you need to monitor what’s going on around you, specifically looking for the latest topic everyone’s talking about.

You can do this by regularly browsing 4 trend and event “hot spots”…

1. Active Forums. Find at least one ACTIVE forum related to your market and regularly visit it to look for ideas. Keyword here is “active”. The ideal forum will have a number of participants who regularly post messages.

2. News Feeds. You can begin with Google.com’s news center at news.google.com. You should also look for a news feed or site that is specific to your field of interest. For example: I regularly visit ChristianHeadlines.com to stay on top of events related to some of my Christian sites.

3. Article Directories. Spend a few minutes at your favorite article directory, focusing specifically on the NEWEST articles posted and the TOP RECENT articles read. I regularly check goarticles.com.

4. Competitor’s Lists. You’ll also want to “spy” on what your competition is doing by joining their lists. When a major competitor begins highlighting certain topics in their content (I.E. “articles”) and / or releases or promotes a specific product, it’s a good indication that you should pay attention.

All of these things allow you to capitalize on the current buzz!

Create small reports based on these buzz-worthy topics.
