HotlinkALARM Stymies Image Hotlinkers and Digital

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Hotlink ALARM is a powerful software tool that alerts users via email when their website graphics and digital property are being used without authorization by image hotlinkers and product thieves.

“It gives the advantage back to honest owners of online businesses who’ve been plagued for years by hotlinkers and digital pirates,” said Will Bontrager, a software engineer and co-developer of HotlinkALARM.

HotlinkALARM was conceived by Bontrager, Willie Crawford and Patrick Pretty.

Will Bontrager began his software programming career in 1980, and has produced website software exclusively since 1997. Willie Crawford is a renowned online merchant and Internet Marketer who maintains hundeds of websites. Patrick Pretty is an online entrepreneur and founder of the Patrick Pretty line of digital information products.

“Not only does the unique Hotlink Alarm technology alert users via email when their digital images are being hotlinked, it also enables users to substitute the image being hotlinked with a customized message,” Crawford said.

“Visitors to the thieve’s website will see the substitute image, which alerts them that the hotlinker is using unauthorized images,” Crawford explained. “By employing the special PowerALARM technology built into HotlinkALARM, users can redirect traffic back to the website from which it was stolen.”

HotlinkALARM users receive the software, a default HotlinkALARM substitution graphic to alert visitors to the presence of unauthorized images, plus a package of six optional substitution images.

“Users of HotlinkALARM even can tailor a message they’d like visitors to the hotlinker’s website to see,” said Patrick Pretty. “Hotlink ALARM enables users to recapture traffic lost to hotlinkers, while empowering owners of the product to make a strong statement that they don’t take digital theft lightly.”

The email HotlinkALARM users receive when an unauthorized hotlink is detected includes the URL of the hotlinking web page, information on the type of file that’s being hotlinked, and other pertinent information.

A user of HotlinkALARM can use its built-in control panel to set the system to send an email each time a hotlink is detected or once a day.

“HotlinkALARM also is designed to protect against product theft,” Bontrager said. “Users can set the system to guard against the hotlinking of video, audio, JavaScript files, off-site CGI programs such as forms, and PDF and ZIP files,” Bontrager said.

“If a digital pirate hotlinks files, the owner of the files pays a double penalty,” Crawford said. “Not only does the theft result in lost sales, it often also means the owner is paying higher bandwidth costs because the files are plucked from the owner’s web server.”

Patrick Pretty, who specializes in Internet Marketing branding, said hotlinkers routinely try to gain an advantage by using the owner’s brand identity to create the appearance that a website is legitimate.

“A hotlinker often tries to trick website visitors by posting branded images that have been stolen,” Patrick Pretty said.

“They trade off of the hard work of the website owners and then send them a bill in the form of brand dilution and higher bandwidth charges.”

Also inluded with HotlinkALARM is “Image No Copy,” a software application that makes it difficult for thieves to copy images for exploitation later.

“Image No Copy gives Hotlink Alarm users an extra level of protection,” Bontrager said. “Our specialized technology frustrates thieves, especially when they see that the image they just tried to save to their computer desktop is not the one they thought they were saving.”

HotlinkALARM and its components came to life after the co- founders’ own businesses were affected by an online thief.

Willie Crawford is founder of the The Internet Marketing Inner Circle (TIMIC), a gathering place for online entrepreneurs.

Will Bontrager and Patrick Pretty are TIMIC members.

In October 2007, the members of TIMIC released “20 Ways To Make $100 Per Day Online,” an information product that became an instant bestseller.

On a Saturday morning shortly after the release of the product, “20 Ways” appeared in an unauthorized eBay listing.

The eBay seller had stolen the product, posting it for one- third of its retail price. And he hotlinked to the “20 Ways” website, stealing images and other intellectual property.

“People were posting postive feedback on eBay for a product that was stolen,” Willie Crawford said. “We set out to do something about it.”

“HotlinkALARM” and its components were the co-founders’ response to the growing problem of online theft.

“It’s time for hotlinkers and digital thieves to stop profiting at the expense of hard-working online merchants and producers of digital merchandise,” Bontrager said.

“Users of HotlinkALARM have an advantage over the pirates,” Bontrager said. “HotlinkALARM was designed to give users a victory over the thieves.”

I highly recommend that you get this product right now! You can get it by going to tomeymarketing.com/recommends/HotLinkAlarm

Willie Crawford Talks About Joint Venture Success

Friday, January 11th, 2008

As part of the JointVentureSeeker.com package I have also interviewed Willie Crawford, and had a blast doing it.

Willie is an amazing man, and again someone who is FULL of information.

Here’s something you might not have known about Willie…

He didn’t start in Internet marketing….

He started with his site www.chitterlings.com way back in 96. :)

He was noticed on a forum because of his wealth of information about how he was marketing his www.chitterlings.com website.

You see, Willie is a REAL marketer. He didn’t create a how to make a bazillion dollars ebook to get “guru status”… He actually knows what he’s doing. :)

Willie shared a ton of great content. One of the little juicy tips he shared with me is this…

You can actually hurt yourself by having too many jv partners when it comes to jv product promotions.

I know that sounds crazy, but Willie explained it like this…

If you make your affiliate program or jv a closed type deal, you make it much more exclusive. Only allow partners a certain time frame that only they will be promoting.

You should approach your bigger names with this. Tell them that from x date to x date they wont have anyone else promoting, This gives them a better chance at making money.

It’s not always about huge product launches.

Willie also gave me a cool formula for getting a ton of jv partners…

1. Create your product…

2. Offer for less than $20

3. Pay 75%-80% commissions

You might lose on the front end but with a good backend you can really make bank by doing this because people like those big commissions.

Willie gave a ton of other great content too, and you can get the rest of his interview inside the Joint Venture Seeker package on February 7th by going to www.JointVentureSeeker.com

Willie also has an incredible site that he puts a lot of time and attention into at tomeymarketing.com/recommends/IMIC

Marketing Puddy

Friday, January 11th, 2008

The other day I had the pleasure of interviewing Robert Puddy for my soon to be released www.JointVentureSeeker.com package.

Robert is a dear friend of mine, and someone I highly regard in the Internet marketing community. He’s got a very sharp mind for this stuff, and is just a wealth of knowledge.

In this interview Robert gave a TON of great information, but I want to tell you about two of them. Sorry, you’ll have to get the package when it’s released on February 7th from www.JointVentureSeeker.com to get the rest of the juicy information. :)

Come on… I am a marketer, right?

However, the two things I have to tell you are goodies… :)

First, Robert of course starts the interview telling about himself. And boy does Robert like to do that. Just kidding…

In this process without knowing it I think, Robert gave a complete blueprint for someone who is just starting out….

Step 1: Research - Don’t reinvent the wheel. Look around at what successful people are doing and copy their system.

Step 2: Start building your list and market products that are related to the interests of your list. If it’s IM products then market IM products. If it’s dog training then offer dog training products.

As you promote these products, contact the owners and start building a relationship with the.

Step 3: Create your own “thing”. Be it a membership site, product or whatever. Use those relationships you’ve built and get those who you’ve promoted for to promote for you.

Rinse and repeat….

You could do this in one niche or multiple niches.

Does it take work? Of course, but it doesn’t take much money, so if you’re just getting started, that three step system above could be a gold mine for you.

Robert, and I also talked about something else really cool…

Basically how to JV with a guru… Got your attention didn’t I?

We all know that Robert Puddy is a very well known marketer. So, how do you JV with guys like this?

Why not create something be it free or paid that compliments one of their products. Like with Robert… He has the LFM Script at LFMScript.com

If I were a know body I could create a full blown course on how to install and use his script (which totally rocks). Show him what I have and ask if he would promote it. Think he would? Heck yeah! It would save him a ton of time showing people how to use it, and it would make him a ton of money because he has a list of laser targeted buyers for that product.

So to get in a guru’s pocket, see if you can create something that can either be given away or sold that compliments one of their products. I’ll be doing this very soon with a well known name, so keep your eyes open for me to pull this trick…

That’s just two things from Robert’s interview. It totally rocked, and I hope you grab the JointVentureSeeker.com package and really listen to what Robert has to say.

One last note… Robert owns Advertising Know How which is like one great big list building JV. When he explained what the site does to me on the phone I couldn’t believe I wasn’t using it. I now have my account and highly recommend you get one too for free by going to tomeymarketing.com/recommends/AdvertisingKnowHow
