A rant on customer service that sucks!
By LizTomey | August 22, 2006
One thing that a lot of business lack online is customer service. I have a 0 tolerance policy when it comes to customer service. If I get bad customer service, I go off! It’s just one of my pet peeves. For instance, if I go into a restaurant and it’s a casual restaurant I either tip $10 or nothing. Since it’s usually my husband and I, a $10 tip is good.
If I get bad service though the person just wont get a tip.
Now online I can’t tip, but I can find something better!
This also just happened to me. I wont name names here, but I was a subscriber to a service that provided a kick butt service that allowed me to easily search ClickBank.com by all kinds of different searche criteria. I could search for the newest products, by the rates of the products, all kinds of awesome things that ClickBank.com its self just doesn’t provide. It also gave me my affiliate links, and other important stats. I paid about $40 bucks every few months for this service. All went well for a while until I had my first problem. I wasn’t able to access the service. After emails back and forth I was basically told it was my problem.
I was ticked because I was led to believe this was the only service around of it’s kind, and now I had not only gotten bad service but was paying for something I couldn’t use.
I went to searching…
After just a few minutes, I found not only an alternative that was better put cost much less! Because of the bad customer service I got the site has lost my business forever, and now I’ll be telling everyone about the better and cheaper service I have found, AND the customer support rocks! I just had to test it before even thinking about giving them my money. I emailed them as if I had already paid to join their site and got an email back within 1 hour!
Totally awesome…
The name of this great service is CB Engine… It’s freakin’ awesome if you promote products via ClickBank.com You can visit the site by going to tomeymarketing.com/is-crazy-about/cb-engine.htm
Do yourself a favor!
ALWAYS provide top notch customer service…
That’s my rant for today…
Liz

Hi Liz,
I can’t agree with you any more than telling you - good for you!
Unfortunately, many marketers seem to forget when they get that powerful new product, that they came from the bottom up just like everyone else and that they put their pants on one leg at a time.
How you treat your clients should be your primary focus and I too have had situations in the past were I just walked away because the service was not as good as I would expect it to be.
Keep up the candid posts Liz.
Here’s to your success,
Xavier

If this isn’t a lesson to everyone out there then I don’t know what is.
People should take more care of their customers not only because it’s the rght thing to do but you just never know who that person might be. They may just have alot of influence out there and you’ll be wise to treat everyone as if they dd.
Anyone who has studied SImpleology 102 will know that superior customer service is a major way to increase revenues.
Keep up the great work Liz,

Hey Liz,
Old student appears to young master
The customer service thing is also a pet peeve of mine. What is sad, I find, is that some ‘gurus’ can be among the worst offenders!
I don’t care how much money you have or make, if I am not counted among your better customers (and affiliates!) and treated accordingly - wouldn’t/shouldn’t it be just a matter of time before others find this out as well?
Good customer service can be purchased pretty cheaply these days, right?…spend some of all those “thousands” for the extra help if you need it!
IMHO, I think we let some of these “gurus” off too easy in this area
I consider these type of things a blatant disrespect not only for the money I /we spent with them…but a disrespect of my/our time and intelligence, as well!
Whew, I feel better now - and didn’t even mention any names either!! lol
At the end of the day, isn’t that really all we actually expect from the people we deal with all day…to be shown some respect and appreciation?
Always know you’re appreciated, girlfriend!
Cheers,
Kathe

Talk about good service? Your tip about these two services was great service for us readers. That is what we need more of. Reviews and honest opinion of IM services and programs. Thanks.

I agree with you about customer service. However, when I get bad service in a restaurant, I leave a fifty cent tip. If you leave nothing, they think you are being a cheapskate. But, if you leave a very small tip, it makes a statement. Just my opinion.

Hello Liz,
I totally agree! Customer service speaks volume, this is what is going to last the time with internet business. People do not get it that you must have the viewpoint the customer is always right and go onto pleasing them in all respects business wise. So there is my rant. Also I get sick of curtness and rudeness when they provide customer service. At the end of the day we choose where we spend our money so they have to earn it.
