My Top 3 Rants For The Day…
By LizTomey | May 26, 2007
Maybe I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but I not only have 1 rant today, but I have 3, and I’m sure many of you are going to agree with me here…
1. Windows Vista Sucks And Microsoft IS The Devil
I absolutely and totally hate Windows Vista. It’s has turned my network here in my office into absolute and total chaos. They tell me I need to put Vista on ALL of my computers for it to work properly. Well if you can’t get it to work on ONE why would I do that? Hell hasn’t froze over yet, so I don’t think I’ll be doing that anytime soon.
The first computer I ever worked on was a Mac. I was 5 maybe 6 years old. It was the first year we had computers in our school. Looks like I should have stuck with them…
So now as I look for a new laptop, I am seeing that ALL of them have Vista on them, so I’m going to have to go spend at least $1000 for a new laptop, pay for a copy of XP, and then pay someone to wipe my brand new laptop clear of that nasty little Vista episode, and have them put XP on it.
This is absolutely insane. Xp works fine… Why fix it if it aint broke, right?
It’s Microsoft… That’s why….
2. Number Your Freakin’ Ebook Pages
I love that so many people have found they can create ebooks. That’s wonderful. More power to ya! However, if you plan for people to actually read these ebooks, most will print them out to read them. I’ve done a survey and most people who read ebooks actually print them out.
So with that said, PLEASE number the pages of your ebook. It’s super easy to do. With Word just click on Insert >> Page Numbers.
That way when I or others print them and the printer decides to throw the pages around the room, or the entire ebook gets dropped, or any one of a million things that happens each and every time I print out an ebook that doesn’t have the pages numbered the ebook can easily be put back together in order.
It’s an absolute pain in the arse to try and put an ebook back together that has no page numbers. As a matter of fact I just had someone send me their ebook to review and ask if I would promote it to my list. I printed it out and the moment I walked out of the room my printer started shooting the pages of the ebook across the room like it was doing an aerial attack on the wall.
I come back into my office to find the ebook across the floor, and low and behold when I looked to start putting it back together there were no page numbers. I scooped all the pages up and tossed them into the trash can. That person’s ebook never got reviewed because I wasn’t spending my time trying to put the ebook puzzle back together.
Moral of story… Number your ebook page….
3. The Adsense Is Dead Nonsense Is TOTALLY Overrated..
Apparently there are a few marketers out there that have really taken this whole Adsense is dead BS and found a way to make money off of it. I’ve seen a few who used to sell Adsense products now running around as the town crier stating that Adsense is dead.
You wanna know why?
Because now that they can create more products for you about why Adsense is dead and sell them to you. They can sell you their new BS strategies and take even more money from you.
I don’t know where the hell this Adsense is dead nonsense came from, but whoever started it didn’t tell me, because I just cashed a $9,091.43 check from Google, and last month I cashed one for over $11,000. So if Adsense is dead I must be doing something right because it’s alive and doing well here.
So the next time you hear someone screaming Adsense is dead look closely because they’re just trying to sell your more BS nonsense…
Whew… I feel better now.
I hope you’re learning from these sudden rant-bursts here… ![]()

Liz,
Actually, it is possible to still obtain a brand new laptop with Windows XP; just go to the Dell site and look up the laptops that have the option of having XP installed. Hope this helps!

I always put numbers to my ebook pages, however, I didn’t figured that it could be so ennoying for people who print without number.
Awesome post.

Sorry for the confusion…

First time poster, just caught your site and wanted to help with your Vista issue.
If you haven’t already found out -
MS provides “Downgrade Rights” for Vista Business and Vista Ultimate (Not for Home versions) - You may do an install of XP Pro from any full version media and call the Activation Center to receive a valid activation code.
You can tell them you are downgrading Vista (Bus/Ult) to XP Pro - They will probably ask for the Product Key for Vista, and maybe XP Pro, so have them ready just in case.
See MS Link -
